BRAGADAYJAH 914

BRAGADAYJAH 914
Abner Joins Forces with David
Saul had a concubine by the name of Rizpah and Ishbosheth accused Abner of sleeping with her.  And Abner became very angry and asked Ishbosheth if he was a dog that he should accuse him in that manner after he had served his father Saul, and now him, and has not delivered him into the hand of David. And Abner swore there and then to follow the Lord’s will in so far as He expressed it to David, to give him the kingdom from the house of Saul from over all Israel from Dan to Beersheba.  And Ishbosheth did not answer Abner a word because he feared him.  Still in his wrath, Abner sent messengers to David telling him to make a league with him and he would give him his support to rule over all Israel. And David replied to Abner and agreed to see Abner on condition that he brought with him when he came to see him, Michal, Saul’s daughter. And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul’s son telling him to deliver up to him his wife Michal, which he espoused on condition that he delivered to her father, Saul, two hundred Philistine foreskins. And Ishbosheth sent and took her from her husband and sent her to David, her husband following her and weeping along the way. But Abner advised him to go back and he did. And Abner communed with the elders of Israel telling them that in times past they sought to make David king over them, therefore, he urged them, the time has come to do it. For the Lord has said, “By the hand of David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of all their enemies.”  On his way, Abner spoke to the Benjamites and eventually arrived at Hebron where he told David all the good things he wanted David to hear.
