Now we have talked about the law of the burst offering and
the role of the priest in his ministerial capacity. Now we will look at the meal offering and the
function of Aaron and his sons in their ministerial capacity.
“And this
is the law of the meal offering; the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the
Lord at the altar. He shall take a
handful of the flour of the meal offering and of the oil thereof and the
frankincense and shall burn it upon the altar even for the memorial of it for a
sweet savor unto the Lord.”
The
remainder shall Aaron and his sons eat with unleavened bread within the holy
place in the tabernacle of the congregation.
It shall not be baked with leaven; I have given it to them for their
portion for their service; it is most holy as is the sin offering and the
trespass offering.
The Lord
also gave commandment to Aaron and his sons
This is the offering they shall offer unto the Lord in the day when he
is anointed. The tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering,
perpetual, a half in the morning and the other half at night.
In a pan it
shall be baked with oil; when it is baked it shall be brought in and the baked
pieces shall they offer unto the Lord for a sweet savor unto the Lord. And then
Aaron shall offer it; it is a statute forever unto the Lord. It shall be
completely burnt. And every meal offering for the priest shall be burnt and not
eaten. More
