The non-sweet savor Trespass Offering.
God’s will for His people is that they may be saved; and so
He has given us laws and regulations, rules and ordinances to ensure that we, by
living by them, will live holy lives. So
while He gave us prohibitive laws, that is to say laws that forbid us to do
certain things which are ipso facto morally wrong, example the Ten
commandments, He has also provided certain other directives that our lives should
be pure and holy in everything we do and say and hear and abide.
In this
connection God provided that if a soul sins and hears the voice of an oath, and
is a witness, whether he has seen or known of it, and if he does not utter it,
then he shall bear his iniquity. This is really a prohibition against cursing, or
swearing as so many love to do, especially those who use the Lord’s name in
vain.
Also if a
person touches any unclean thing, whether it be a carcass, of a beast or a
cattle, or some reptile, and whether he is aware of it or not, he shall be
unclean and is guilty. Likewise if a man touches an unclean human and knows it
not he shall also be defiled; and if he knows about it he is guilty. This is
but another instance of the law of God condemning homosexuality/lesbianism/bestiality
among others
And in any of the above
uncleanness, the person shall first of all confess that he had sinned.
Thereafter he is required to
provide a trespass offering unto the Lord for his sin which he has sinned, The
offering is to be a female from the flock, a lamb of a sheep or a goat. He shall take it to the priest and the priest
shall make an atonement for him for his sin. But if the sinner is unable to
bring a lamb, then he is required to take to turtledoves or two pigeons unto
the Lord; one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. More
