BRAGADAYJAH 1063
God delivered the three kings.
In response to the king’s
enquiry, Elisha replied to the king and asked, “What have I to do with you? Go
ask the prophets of your father and mother.”
And the king of Israel said to him, “Nay, for the Lord has called these
three kings to deliver them into the hand of Moab.” And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts liveth
before whom I stand, of a certainty were it not for the presence of Jehoshaphat
the king of Judah with you, I would not look in your direction or even look at
your face.” “Anyhow,” Elisha said, “Bring
me a minstrel.” And it came to pass that
as the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him and he said, “Thus
saith the Lord, make this valley full of ditches.” For the Lord says, you shall
not see wind or rain; yet the valley shall be filled with water that you may
drink both yourselves and your cattle and your beasts. And this is but a simple
thing in the sight of the Lord and he will deliver the Moabites into your hand;
and you shall smite every fenced city, and shall fell every good tree, and mar
every good piece of land with stones. And it came to pass that in the morning
when the meat offering was being offered that there came water by the way of
Edom and the country was filled with water.
