BRAGADAYJAH 1052
Ahab ordered Micaiah imprisoned
And the Lord said, “Who shall
go forth and persuade Ahab to go up to Ramoth-Gilead so that he may fail?” And the spirits discussed the matter among
themselves; but they could not agree; but then a spirit came and stood before
the Lord and said, “I will persuade him.” Then the Lord asked him how he would
do it, and the spirit said he would go forth and be a lying spirit in the mouth
of all the prophets. And the Lord said, “You shall persuade him; so go forth
and do so.” These things saw Micaiah and prophesied and told unto the king that
God had sent forth a lying spirit to speak into the mouth of all his prophets
so that they will bring evil upon him. But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah smote
Micaiah on the cheek and asked him, “Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from
you to speak unto me?” And Micaiah said, “Behold you shall see in that day when
you shall find yourself hiding in an inner chamber. And the king of Israel
instructed his servants to take Micaiah away and take him to Ammon the governor
and to Joash the king’s son and tell them to take Micaiah and put him in prison
and keep him there until he came unto them in peace; and in the meantime they
were to feed him only with the bread and water of affliction. And Micaiah said
to the king, “If you return in peace, then the Lord has not spoken to me.” And
he called upon the people to be his witnesses.
