BRAGADAYJAH 1051
Micaiah tells Ahab, Thus saith
the Lord.
Then Zedekiah the son of
Chenaanah made himself horns, and said thus saith the Lord, “With these shall
you push the Syrians until you have consumed them.” And all the rest of the
prophets prophesied and said, “Go up to Ramoth-Gilead and prosper; for the Lord
shall deliver it into your hands.” And
then the messenger that went out to call
Micaiah spoke to him and told him that the prophets were declaring good results
for the kings with their mouth; and they prayed that he would speak similar
good words to the kings. And Micaiah said “as the Lord lives that which the
Lord tells me to say, that I will say.” So Micaiah appeared before the king and
the king said to him, “Micaiah shall we go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle or
shall we forbear?” And he told him to go
up and prosper for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. And the
king asked, “Micaiah how many times have I charged you not to tell me anything
except that which is true in the name of the Lord?” And he said, “I saw all Israel
scattered upon the hills as sheep that have not a shepherd; and the Lord said,
these have no master; let every man return to his house in peace.” And the king
of Israel asked Jehoshaphat, did I not tell you he would prophesy no good news
concerning me but evil?”
