BRAGADAYJAH 1050
The Kings of Judah and Israel formed a league against Syria.
Now the king of Israel reminded his servants that Ramoth of Gilead belonged to Israel and that they were sitting still and making no effort to reclaim it for Israel out of the hand of the King of Syria. And he asked Jehoshaphat whether he would consent to going with him to battle at Gilead to regain Ramoth. And Jehoshaphat replied and told the king that he was of like mind, and would go with him and make himself, his people and his horses available to him. And Jehoshaphat told the king that he should inquire of the Lord what they should do. Then the king of Israel gathered together all the prophets of Israel, some four hundred of them, and asked them if they should go up against Ramoth-Gilead to battle or should they not. And they told them to go up as the Lord would deliver it into their hand. And Jehoshaphat asked Ahab if there was no prophet of the Lord he could enquire of. And the king told him that there was one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah by whom they may enquire of the Lord; but that he hated him because he did not prophesy good concerning him, but always evil. And Jehoshaphat told the king not to speak that way, but to send and call the prophet, Micaiah and the king did so. And both kings, Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat on his throne and the king of Israel sat on his throne, each having dressed in his kingly robes. And all the prophets continued to prophesy before them.
