Ahab and Jezebel marked for death.
Accordingly, the men of the city, the elders and nobles did as Jezebel demanded of them. And they proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people. And as planned, the two men the sons of Belial sat before Naboth and accused him and said that he had blasphemed against God and the king. And so they took him out of the city and stoned him with stones and killed him. Then they sent messengers to Jezebel telling her that Naboth was dead. And when she heard that Naboth was dead, she told her husband Ahab, to go and take hold of the field which Naboth had refused to give to him for money, for now Naboth was dead. And so Ahab rose up to go down to possess Naboth’s field. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite telling him to go and meet Ahab and say to him. “Thus saith the Lord, has thou killed and has thou also taken possession? In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall the dogs lick your blood also.” And Ahab said to Elijah, “Has thou found me O my enemy?” And Elijah answered, “I have found you because you have sold yourself to work evil in the sight of the Lord. Therefore the Lord will bring evil on you and take away your posterity and will make thine house as the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah; because you have provoked the Lord to anger and also caused Israel to sin. And concerning Jezebel, she too shall the dogs eat by the wall of Jezreel.”
