BRAGADAYJAH 980

BRAGADAYJAH 980
Seventy Thousand Men of Israel Destroyed
Wisely David opted for what he deemed to be the least punitive of his punishments, to be dealt with directly by the hand of God as opposed to being pursued by his enemies or seven years famine. So he opted for three days of pestilence. So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning and there died of the people from Dan to Beersheba seventy thousand men. And when the destroying angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem near the threshing floor of Araunah to destroy it, the Lord told the Angel to hold his hand because He had withdrawn His judgment upon that city, and ordered the angel not to afflict Jerusalem. At the same time David appealed to God and prayed that the Lord’s anger be directed against him alone since he alone had sinned and the people were innocent. And Gad came to David and told him to go up to the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. And David went up toward the threshing floor of Araunah as directed by Gad.
