Four of Goliath’s sons killed in Battle
After that conflict there were further conflicts with the Philistines,
David having been taken out of the firing line in order as they put it, that
the light of Israel may not be put out.
There was nothing better the Philistines would have like short of the
utter route of Israel, than that they would kill David in battle. In the next
battle against the Philistines at Gob, another of the sons of Goliath was
killed; and in the next battle yet at Gob one of Goliath’s brother was also
killed and after that there was a fourth battle this time at Gath where in the
battle there was a son of Goliath who was great in stature and having six
fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot; and in this battle against
Israel he was killed by Jonathon the son of Shimeah the brother of David. So
that in four battles four of Goliath’s sons were killed.
