BRAGADAYJAH 969

BRAGADAYJAH 969
David Accorded Saul and Jonathon a proper burial.
Seeing her kinfolk thus dealt with, Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it on upon the rock and sat on it from the beginning of the harvest until water dropped on them out of heaven and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest upon them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night. And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Saul’s concubine, Aiah had done. And David went and took the bones of Saul and of Jonathon from the men of Jabesh-Gilead who had stolen them from the street of Bethshan where the Philistines had hanged them when they had slain them in Gilboa, and brought them up and gathered the bones of them that were hanged and the bones were then buried in the country of Benjamin in Zelah in the sepulcher of Kish his father, rendering unto the remains of Saul and his son Jonathon, burial rights as befitted them in accordance with David’s instructions. And after that, God was entreated for the land. In addition the Philistines were again at war with Israel and David went up against the Philistines and during the battle he became faint. And at that stage Goliath’s son thought he had killed David; but David had only fainted; but Abishai the son of Zeruiah killed the Philistine.  And after that the men of David persuaded him to go out to war no more.
