Moses continued with expounded to the people the might and majesty
of God, reminding them of the wonderful works God wrought in their sight.
"Out of heaven he made you to hear His voice that He may
instruct you, and upon earth He demonstrated by showing you great fire, and
spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. And because He loved your fathers,
He chose their seed after them and brought you out of Egypt by His mighty power
out of Egypt, to drive out nations from before you, nations which were mightier
and greater then you were and He gave you their lands. Know, therefore, this
day and consider it in your heart that the Lord He is God in heaven above and
upon the earth beneath, and there is none like Him."
Then Moses separated and set aside three cities on this side of
the Jordan towards the rising sun. that the man-slayer may flee there after he
accidentally killed his neighbor, that entering one of these cities he might
live and not be killed. These cities were Bezer, in the wilderness in the plain
country of the Reubenites, Ramoth in Gilead of the Giladites, and Golan in
Bashan of the Mannassites.
