for the first day of the month, the order was given for the sin offering for
the atonement of sin. The form of the
offering was in addition to the burnt offering and consists of a goat offered
every day for seven days alongside the brunt offering and the drink offering, followed
by a holy convocation on the seventh day in which there was no work to be done.
On
the day of the first fruits when a new meal offering is offered, then after the
week is out there shall also be a holy convocation in which likewise there was
to be no work. But on that day thou
shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord of two young bullocks, one ram and
seven lambs of the first year; and the meal offering of flour mixed with oil,
three tenth part unto one bullock, two tenth part unto one ram, a tenth part
unto one lamb throughout the seven lambs and one kid of the goat to make
atonement for the people. These were to be offered beside the continual burnt
offering all of which shall be without blemish.
