BRAGADAYJAH 1138
The King of Judah Carried into Babylon
During the reign of Jehoiachin, in the last days of Judah, the
servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon besieged the city of Jerusalem. And
later Nebuchadnezzar himself came up and besieged the city. And Jehoiachin the
king together with his servants and his mother, his princes and his officers
went out to meet Nebuchadnezzar, and Nebuchadnezzar took him in the eight year
of his reign. And Nebuchadnezzar carried off all the treasures that were in the
house of the Lord, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon had
made for the house of the Lord as the Lord had commanded. And Nebuchadnezzar
carried away all the princes and all the mighty men of valor some ten thousand
of them, and all the craftsmen and the smiths, leaving none behind but the
poorest sort and unskilled sort of the people. And he carried away Jehoiachin
and his household and his men at arms to Babylon.
