BRAGADAYJAH 1171
Nehemiah told the walls of Jerusalem was in ruins
If you were following and even you were not, we point out that the
blogs, BRAGADAYJAH, for the last 30 days, beginning with BRAGDAYJAH 1142 up to
yesterday, were all taken from Ezra’s account found in the historical book
under his name; and starting today the main synopses are taken from the book of
Nehemiah. In many ways a contemporary of Ezra’s. Nehemiah will be seen to
record the last historical events of the Old Testament and extending the period
to just about 430 B.C. and very close to the prophesy of Malachi the last book
in the Old Testament. Since both Nehemiah and Malachi were written in the 5th
century B.C. According to Ezra, the House of the Lord had been built and
refurnished; but the walls of the city were still in ruins and it is to this
end that Nehemiah draws us. He begins by saying the word of the Lord came to
him. In the month Chisleu during the twelfth year of Artaxerxes while he was at
Shushan at the palace. While there he recounts, certain men Hanani and other
men of Judah came to him and he enquired of them concerning the Jews that had
escaped out of the captivity and also concerning Jerusalem; and they told him
that the remnant had left the province there in great affliction and reproach;
and that the walls of Jerusalem also had been broken down and its gates burnt
with fire.
