BRAGADAYJAH 1157
Darius confirmed the order of Cyrus.
Where the hand of God is heavy, no man, not even many men, can lift it
up, or make light of it. So the adversaries unwittingly in attempting to thwart
the building of the house of the Lord, aided the builders by reporting to the
King Darius, the very message that God wanted him to convey, namely that Darius
search the records in order to confirm the order of Cyrus, which he did, and
found it to be indeed well and truly made. The search confirmed that Cyrus had
ordered that the vessels of the Lord which were taken out of the house of the
Lord and taken to Babylon, were in fact ordered to be returned by Cyrus. That
Cyrus had even ordered that the foundation of the house by strongly laid. So
Darius ordered the Governor and all those who had signed the petition to him, “Let
this house of the Lord alone. Let Governor of the Jews and the elders of the
Jews build the house of God in its place.” But the telling part of the decree
was. ”Whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from the house
and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a
dunghill for this. And the God that hath caused His name to dwell there,
destroy all kings and all people that shall put their hand to alter and to
destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem.
