BRAGADAYJAH 1166
Ezra tells of their Arrival into Jerusalem.
Ezra recounted how they departed from the river of Ahava, (place on
the other side of the river; but the name Ahava itself means water, or river.) on
the twelfth day of the first month to go up to Jerusalem and the hand of God
was upon them protected and delivered, from the enemy who laid in wait for them
along the way; for indeed they were carrying a fortune in gold and silver and
precious holy things. But at last they arrived in Jerusalem and rested there
for three days. Then on the fourth day they weighed the silver and the gold and
the vessels which were to be placed in the house of God. And the weight of all
the treasure was listed and recorded at that time. And the children of those that
had been carried away and who came out of the captivity, offered burnt offering
unto the God of Israel: twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety six rams,
seventy seven lambs, twelve he-goats for a burnt offering; all of which were
offered unto the Lord. And they delivered the king’s commission unto the king’s
lieutenants and to the governor and the people were taught how to worship in
the house of God.
