So the way God dealt with Pharaoh was not only intended to
show Gods unfailing power; one plague might be taken as an accident; two,
three, four, five; but ten? Certainly no
accident; no fluke God, unlike man knows
exactly what He is doing and achieves exactly the kind of results He intends
every time.
Secondly the
way God dealt with Egypt showed the blessedness of serving God. The lessons taught were meant not only for
His people, the children of Israel, but for the nations also. In all of his dealings with His people, the
Lord made sure those outside of His covenant knew exactly where the Israelites
blessings came from. And just as the
enemy was left in no doubt who was leading the children of Israel, so did
Israel know who was their Commander in Chief.
If you give a man a hundred dollars on one occasion, he is likely to
forget you; but if you give him ten dollars over ten weeks, he is more likely
to remember you.
Tomorrow we will look at some specific things with regard to
