Now Moses called the children of Israel together and said to
them, “note the Lord has called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur
of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom,
in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, enabling
him to design beautifully wrought works of gold and silver and bronze; and also
in the cutting of stones and how to set them, and also how to carve beautiful
works.”
“And God
has also put in his heart to teach Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach of the tribe
of Dan. Those has the Lord filled with
wisdom of heart to work all manner of work, as engravers, and of the skillful
workmen and embroiderers in blue, and in purple and in scarlet, and in fine
linen, to design and weave beautifully crafted work.
After that,
Bezalel and Oholiab and everyone else the Lord had given a heart of wisdom to
do the fine work, began to work on the designs according to the Lord and given
them wisdom, understanding and inspiration.
And when they were ready, Moses called them and delivered to them all
the offerings which the children of Israel had brought for the work of
the service of the sanctuary wherewith to make it. And they brought Moses free
offerings every morning.
When the
craftsmen were finished making all that the Lord had commanded to be made, they
brought them unto Moses and informed him that the people had contributed more
than was required to complete the works, and were still bringing more
materials. And so Moses made a proclamation
that there were to be brought no more gifts for the making of the things the
Lord commanded, and that nothing further was to be made.
