BRAGADAYJAH 1027
The Man of God Slain.
And it came to pass that as the men were eating at the old
prophet’s table, that the word of the Lord came to him; and he cried out to the
man of God that came from Judah and said, “Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as
thou disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and has not kept the commandment which
the Lord thy God commanded thee, but came back and has eaten bread and drunk
water in this place, of which the Lord said to thee eat no bread and drink no
water, thy carcass shall not come again into the seplulchre of thy fathers.” And
it came to pass that after he had eaten bread and had drunk, he saddled his ass
and went his way; and while on his way, a lion met him and slew him. And his
carcass was left in the way; and his ass and the lion stood by the carcass. And men passed by and saw the carcass in the
way, and the lion standing by the carcass. And they went into the city and told
the old prophet. And when he heard it he said, “It is the man of God who
disobeyed the word of God. Therefore the Lord has delivered him unto the lion
which has slain him in according with the word of the Lord.
