Having dealt with the men of
Succoth, Gideon turned next to Penuel and spoke to them and told them as he had
said to the men of Succoth and they responded as did the men of Succoth. And
Gideon told them that when he returned unto them the next time, he would break
down their high tower. And Zebah and
Zalmunna were in Karkor with their hosts, of about fifteen thousand men, the
remnant of the children of the east; for one hundred and twenty thousands of
them that drew sword had fallen; and Gideon went on their borders and dwelt in
tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah and smote the host for they were
fortified. And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, Gideon pursued after them and took
the two kings of Midian Zebah and Zalmunna and discomforted all of the host.
