Personally, I think the free world should come together to protest, with a view to freeing, the marine sergeant who has been to my mind improperly convicted and imprisoned for murder. It is one thing for those who have never faced the nerve racking experience of being in a snake pit fighting against an implacable and tenacious enemy, to condemn the action of a soldier who has, but quite another to be actually there, where every second could be your last. Taliban fighters are not normal soldiers who should be afforded the facility and courtesy of the Geneva convention; and that said, I think that those who hold court over actions such as that which took place on the field of conflict should take their seats there, and there reach their verdicts.
