Samson, the Harlot of Gaza and Delilah.
Samson went down to Gaza and saw there
a harlot and decided to spend the night with her. And the Philistines heard of
it and surrounded the house in the night and waited quietly having surrounded
the house, planning to kill him in the morning. But Samson rose at midnight and
took the doors of the gate of the city, including the posts upon his shoulders,
with him and went to the top of the hill that is opposite Hebron and escaped
the Philistines. And after that, Samson fell for a woman in the valley of Sorek,
whose name was Delilah. And the Lords of the Philistines contacted her and made
a deal with her that each of them would give her eleven hundred pieces of
silver if she would entice Samson into telling her the secret of his strength that
they may be able to bind and afflict him, she of course revealing the secret to
them.
