Danites removed Images out of Micah’s
House.
Having received the report of the
spies, the Danites set forth with six thousand armed men and they went and
pitched near Kirjathjearim in Judah after which the name of the place was
called Mahanehdan. And they marched from there to mount Ephraim and came to the
house of Micah. And having arrived there, the five spies who were with them asked
them whether they were aware that there were in the house an ephod and teraphim,
and graven and molten images? And
whether they knew what they had to do.
So they proceeded and arrived at the house of the Levite and of Micah
and saluted him. And the six hundred men positioned themselves at the gate of
Micah’s house while the five spies went inside the house and removed the ephod
and the teraphim and the graven and molten images out of the house and also
took the priest out of the house and placed him by the gate while they removed
the articles from Micah’s house.
