Haman hanged, Mordecai Promoted.
Then King Ahasuerus rising from the banquet in his anger went into the palace
garden and Haman stood up to plead to Esther for his life; for he saw that the
king was determined to punish him. After a while, the king returning from the
garden, and entering the banquet of banquet of fine, saw Haman leaning over Queen
Esther’s bed, and determined that Haman was attempting violate the Queen. Then
the king asked, “Is he trying to force himself upon the queen before me in this
very house?” And immediately they covered Haman’s face; and Harbonah one of the
chamberlains drew the king’s attention to the gallows that Haman had built for
Mordecai; and the king ordered that Haman be hanged on that same gallows. So
they hanged Haman on the gallows and after that the king’s wrath was pacified.
And on that very day, the king gave the house of Haman to the queen. And
Mordecai was summoned before the king as Esther had told him what Mordecai was
to her. And the king took the ring which he had taken from Haman and gave it
unto Mordecai; and Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
