BRAGADAYJAH 1227

BRAGADAYJAH 1226
The King’s Insomnia
It happened that night the king could not sleep; and he commanded that the book of records chronicles be brought to him, and they were brought and read to the king.  And it was found written in them the account of how Mordecai had informed the king via Esther of the treachery of Bigthan and Teresh two of the king’s chamberlains the keepers of the doors who had plotted to lay hold of the king, Ahasuerus. And the king enquired and asked what honour was accorded to Mordecai for his service to the king; and the king’s servants informed him that none was bestowed upon him. Then the king enquired with regard to who was in attendance at the court, and it Happened that at that very moment Haman had gone into the court of the king’s house to speak to the king with regard to his plan to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had constructed for him. And the king’s servant told him that Haman was in the court and so the king ordered that he should enter in. So Haman went in and the king asked him what should be done to the man in whom the king delighted to honour. And Haman thinking that the king was referring to him answered the king and said “Let the royal apparel of the king, and the horse that the king rides on, and the crown royal which he wears on his head, be bestowed on this most noble prince that the man in whom the king delights may be arrayed with these. That he may ride on horseback through the streets of the city and proclaim before him; so that this man in whom the king delights shall be known throughout the land.
