BRAGADAYJAH 1052

BRAGADAYJAH 1052
God promised victory to Ahab against Benhadad.
Having been advised by the elders of Israel, Ahab replied to the messengers of Benhadad that he was not prepared to accede to his second demand. And when Benhadad’s messengers told him of Ahab’s response, Benhadad was in a rage; and he told his messengers to go and tell Ahab “The gods do so unto me and more also if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls of all the people that follow you.”  And Ahab responded and said, “Tell Benhadad let him not that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.”  And it came to pass that when Benhadad heard this message that he was drinking together with his kings in the tents; and he said unto his servants “Set yourselves in array;” and they set themselves in array against the city. And there came a prophet unto Ahab saying, “Thus said the Lord, Have you seen the great multitude? Behold I will deliver it in thy hand this day. And thou shalt know that I am the Lord.”  And Ahab asked by whom and he was told by the young men who are the princes of the province. And he asked. “Who shall order the battle?” And he was told  that he was the one.
