Order of the Host – The Passover

And the Lord spoke to Moses and said unto him that on the first day of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, and instructed him that he should make the children of Israel of Israel keep the Passover at the appointed time each year on the fourteens day of the month at evening.  The Passover shall be kept in its appointed time and in according to the rites and ceremonies thereof.
And Moses spoke unto the children of Israel that they should keep the Passover and the children of Israel kept the Passover on the fourteenth day at evening in the wilderness of Sinai.

And at that time there were certain men who had been defiled by reason of the dead body of a men so that they could not keep the Passover on that day; so they came before Moses and Aaron and they admitted that they were defiled. And asked Moses what they should do seeing they were unable to keep the Passover.  Moses told them that he would have to consult the Lord.  Moses asked the Lord and the Lord told him that if anyone was unable to keep the Passover by reason of uncleanness or distance yet he shall keep the Passover unto the Lord subject to conditions.

BRAGADAYJAH 411

Once the Levites were set before Aaron and his sons, they were separated from among the children of Israel and they were the Lord’s. And after that they were to go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; they shall thus be cleansed and an offering unto the Lord. They are completely given unto the Lord from among the children of Israel in the place of those who had opened every womb, the first-born of all the children of Israel.
“And I,” said the Lord,  “have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.”
And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did unto the Levites as the Lord commanded; and the Levites were purified; they washed their clothes and Aaron offered them as an offering before the Lord and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them. And after that the Levites entered into the tabernacle of the congregation according to the commandment of the Lord.

The Levites were to serve in the tabernacle from the age of twenty five to the age of fifty and after that they would cease to do so; but join the congregation to keep order but do no further service in the tabernacle.

Order of the Host – Cleansing of the Levites.

And the Lord told Moses to take the Levites from among the children of Israel and cleanse them. To do which, Moses was ordered to sprinkle water of purifying upon them and let them shave all their flesh, and wash their clothes and make themselves clean.
Then they would take a young bullock with the meal offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and another young bullock for a sin offering.
And the Levites were to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation; and in the presence of the whole assembly of the children of Israel together, And the Levites would be presented unto the Lord. Thus assembled the children of Israel would put their hands on the heads of the Levites and Aaron would offer them before the Lord as an offering of the children of Israel that they may execute the service of the Lord.

And the Levites would then lay their hands on the heads of the bullocks, one of which was then offered for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to make an atonement for the Levites. And thus shall the Levites be set before Aaron and his sons for an offering unto the Lord.

The Order of the Host – The Lamp and Lampstand

And the Lord spoke unto Moses and told him to advise Aaron that when he lights the lamps, the seven lamps would give light over against the lampstand. So Aaron lit the lamps over against the lampstand as the Lord commanded Moses.
The lampstand was made of beaten gold unto its shaft and flowers and beaten work in keeping with the pattern which the Lord had shown Moses concerning the making of the lampstand.

We note from God’s word spoken to Moses earlier that God told Moses, “Command the children of Israel that they bring unto Aaron pure olive oil beaten for the light to cause the lamps to burn continually. Outside the veil of the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation shall Aaron order it from the evening until the morning before the Lord continually.www.chaberbooks.com

The Summary of the Princes Gifts.

So that we find that at the dedication of the altar in the day when it was anointed by the princes of Israel, there were twelve platters of silver, twelve silver bowls, and twelve golden spoons,
Each platter weighed one hundred and thirty shekels of silver, and each bowl weighed seventy shekels, so that all the silver vessels weighed, two thousand four hundred shekels according to the weight of the sanctuary.
The golden spoons were twelve filled with incense, and they weighed ten shekels apiece after the shekel of the sanctuary, so that the spoons weighed one hundred and twenty shekels.
All the oxen for the offering were twelve bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meal offering and the kids of the goat for their sin offering twelve.
And all the oxen for the sacrifice of peace offerings were twenty and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he-goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty.  These were the gifts of the princely offerings.

And after Moses entered into the tabernacle of the congregation to seek the Lord, he heard His voice speaking to him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim and He spoke with him.

On the fourth day, Elizur, the son of Shedeur prince of the children of Reuben offered his gifts.  And he offered, one silver platter of one hundred and thirty shekels of silver, one silver bowl of seventy shekels after the shekels of the sanctuary, both vessels filled with fine flour with oil for a meal offering; one golden spoon of ten shekels full of incense; one young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering; one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and for a sacrifice of peace offering two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lams of the first year. This was the offering of Elizur the son of Shedeur.
So far we have seen that the offerings of these four princes representing their individual families, all gave exactly similar offerings, not only  in quality and quantity; but in variety also; for the meal offering, the burnt offering, the sin offering and the peace offering.

It would seem that none tried to outdo the other and none wanted to be outdone; yet there was no striving among them; for indeed we may surmise, God would have had it no other way.

And they brought their offerings before the Lord, six covered wagons and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes and for each one an oxen and they brought them before the tabernacle.
And the Lord spoke unto Moses and said “Take it of them, that they may be used to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shall give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.
Two wagons and four oxen he have to the sons of Gershon; four wagons and eight oxen to the sons of Merari; but unto the sons of  Kohath, he gave none, because the service of the sanctuary belonging to them was that they should bear upon the shoulders.

What An Awesome God We serve.
If we fear not God, it can only be because we are ignorant of who He is.  And if we do not know who he is, it can only be because we are ignorant of his Holy word.
As we study the word of God we cannot but be struck by the thought, “What an awesome God he is!”
Looking back over the last hundred or so days, indeed looking back over the entire 400 days since this journey began, we saw God as a Creator, Provider, Law giver, Judge, Commander in Chief, Builder, Architect, Designer, Organizer, Administrator.
Having redeemed His people out of Egypt and led them to safely to the land of the Canaanites, He instructed them in the building and equipping of the Tabernacle, the ark, the altar and all its vessels and instruments of service, including the apparel for Aaron and his sons the priests. He instructed them on the necessary elements of the different offerings, of peace, sin, and wave offerings and the significance and time for each.  He instructed them in the order of the arrangement of the Hosts, including directing them who were to head each household and if that were not enough, He finally taught Aaron how to pray.

“And the Lord spoke unto Moses saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, and say to them in this way thou shall bless the children of Israel. The Lord bless thee and keep thee; the Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace.”

Order of the Host – The Nazirite’s offering continued.
And the priest shall bring them, that is to say, the basket of unleavened bread and cakes of fine flour, the meal offering and  the drink offerings, before the Lord, and shall offer his sin offering and the burnt offering. And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the Lord with the basket of unleavened bread.
And the Nazirite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram and one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazirite after the hair of his separation is shaved.

And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord.  This is holy for the priest with the wave breast and the wave shoulder; and after that the Nazirite may drink wine.

Message From Gateway to Heaven Church.org

Prepare to Meet your God.

The Prophet Amos, as his very name signifies, was much burdened over the sin of the Northern Kingdom of Israel during the eight century B.C. The Lord had called him and sent him to preach to the people, and to warn them of impending judgment.
The prophet’s message among others was, very clear, very simple, “Therefore, thus will I do unto you O Israel, and because I will do this, prepare to meet your God.”
But the people did not want to hear, they were too busy enjoying the fruits of sin and basking in wine and revelry; so they told him, “go away, prophesy not again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary.”  But Amos continued to plead with them, to warn them and to tell them “Thus sayeth the Lord, until the final hour when they were dispersed to the wind and were heard from not again.   I have often been told, I have often heard, that the people of today want to hear happy messages. You have to tell jokes and make people laugh; you are too serious; lighten up and make people feel happy.
However as I see it, the questions of life and death, and the hereafter, are too serious to laugh and joke about. Many times I hear people say when someone has passed, no doubt to make themselves or someone else feel better, “Oh he/she is gone to a better place; and often I would ask myself, really?   Friends it is not that easy; the road to heaven is a narrow one. You must walk carefully within the Masters will in order to get there. Your life and words and deeds and actions, must reflect the risen Christ living in you. So to adopt the words of the prophet, we must prepare to meet our God.   Our lives must be a shining example of Christ for all to see. We cannot live life like the devil and expect that somehow, by default, we are going to miraculously find ourselves spending eternity in that better place often so callously talked about.  So let me say this again, my message is with a view to saying what the lord expects of me, not what men would like to hear.
The Apostle Paul writing to the Galatians in defense of his Apostolic Ministry says this, “Do I now seek the favor of men or of God? Or do I seek to please men?” For if I set out to please men, I should not be the servant of God.”  (Gal. 1:10)
The Apostle Paul also sent a stern warning to his fellow servant Timothy, when he said, “I charge thee, therefore, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom, Preach the word, be diligent in and out of season ; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine; For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables” (2Tim 4: 1-4.)
I do believe that, that time spoken of in Holy writ is here. The pulpit is used to entertain itching ears. Ears not itching for the word of God but the foolishness of the world.  We spend time in idleness and the things of the world, time which would be better spent in preparing to meet our God.
As I see it, the sun is sinking fast. The dispensation of the church age is speeding fast to a close. A dispensation is not a time for Christians to relax. It is a time for stewardship. It is a period of time during which man is tested in regard to His obedience to the specific revelation of the will of God. That time began when Christ left us with His promise to come again; but with the responsibility to occupy until he returns.

So Moses numbered them, all the first-born among the children of Israel and all the first-born males by the number of names from a month old and up; and of those who were numbered the number was twenty two thousand, two hundred and seventy three.
And the Lord Commanded Moses to take all the Levites instead of all the first-born of the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be the Lord’s.
And since the number of the first-born are more than the number of the Levites, Moses was ordered to take five shekels apiece by the poll, using the shekel of the sanctuary as a standard of measurement, and give the odd number of them to be redeemed and give the money to Aaron and his sons. Of the first-born of the Children of Israel he took the money, one thousand three and sixty five shekels  and gave to the money to Aaron and his sons.

Order of the Host – The Families of Levi.
And the Lord commanded Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, to number the children of Levi according to the house of their fathers, by their families, every male from a month old and upwards.
And Moses numbered them as the Lord had commanded him. And the sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
The sons of Gershon were Libne and Shimei; and the sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel; and the sons of Merari became the families of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites.
From Gershon came forth the families of the Libnites and the families of the Shimites and were known as the Gershonites.
And there were numbered of them according to the males one month old and up seven thousand and five hundred.

Order of the Host – The Sons of Aaron
At the time the Lord ordered the numbering on Mount Sinai, the sons of Aaron the priest were Nadab, the first-born, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. All of whom were consecrated along with Aaron to minister in the priest’s office; but of these four sons, Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord when they offered strange, forbidden, fire before the Lord in the wilderness of Sinai; and since at the time they had no children, Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office with Aaron their father.
Order of the Host - .The tribe of Levi.
And the Lord spoke unto Moses saying, “Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest that they may minister unto him. And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation to do the service of the tabernacle.  They shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.”
The lord explained to Moses, that the Levites were chosen by Him to do service to Moses and his sons the priests because they were chosen in place of the first-born of Israel for that service. They and they only were to come near to the tabernacle to do service to Aaron and his sons.  Indeed the first-born after the Passover belonged to the Lord; but in their stead, the Lord chose the Levites for this His special tabernacle service.
