Order of the Host – The
Office of Eleazar
To the office of Elazar the
son of Aaron the priest pertains the oil for the light and the sweet incense,
and the daily meal offering and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the
tabernacle and all that is in it and the sanctuary and the vessels thereof.
And the Lord spoke unto Moses
and unto Aaron saying, do not cut off from among the Levites the tribe of the
Kohathites. But rather, that they may live and not die, when they approach unto
the most holy things, Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint each one of
them to his service and to his burden; except that they shall not go in to see
when the holy things are covered lest they die. More
