BRAGADAYJAH 1124
Hezekiah’s Last Words
Upon hearing Isaiah’s prophesy concerning the deportation of his sons,
Hezekiah said calmly, “Good is the word of the Lord which thou has spoken. Is
God not good that peace and truth shall be in my days?” So Hezekiah died and
was buried and his son Manasseh reigned in his stead. He was twelve years old when
he began to reign, and he continued to reign for fifty five years, and his
mother’s name was Hephzibah. And Manasseh turn out to be a wicked monarch;
doing much abomination like unto the heathens whom the Lord had cast out before
the children of Israel. For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah
his father had destroyed, and he raised up alters for Baal, and made a grove as
did Ahab king of Israel; and he worshiped all the hosts of heaven and served them. He built alters in the house of the Lord, the
house in which the Lord said. “In Jerusalem will I put my Name.” And he built alters in the two courts of the
house of the Lord. And he made his son to pass through the fire, and observed
times and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards; and
did much wickedness in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger
