BRAGADAYJAH 1110
Hezekiah prospered before the Lord.
Now it came to pass that in the third year of Hosea, son of Elah king
of Israel, that Hezekiah son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. He was
twenty five year old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty nine years
in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. And he
did that which was right in the sight of the Lord according as did David before
him. He removed the high places and broke down the groves and the brazen
serpent that Moses had made he broke to pieces; for up to that time the people
still burnt incense to it and worshipped it. Hezekiah trusted in the Lord God
of Israel, so that after him there was none like him. Among all the kings of
Judah. For he clave to the Lord and departed
not from following after Him, but kept his commandments which He commanded. And the Lord was with Hezekiah and he
prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and
served him not. And he smote the Philistines even unto Gaza and its borders
from the watchtower to the fenced city.
