Now the Lord spoke unto Moses and said
to him, “Speak unto Aaron and his sons, and unto all the children of Israel and
say to them: “This is what the Lord has
commanded saying, any man of the house of Israel who kills an ox, or lamb or
goat in the camp, or kills it outside the camp and does not bring it unto the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the Lord,
before the tabernacle of the Lord, blood shall be imputed to him; for he has
shed blood and that man should be cut off from among his people.”
“To the end that the children of
Israel may bring their sacrifices which they offer in the open field, even that
they may bring them unto the Lord unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation unto the priest, and offer them as peace offerings unto the Lord.”
“And the priest shall sprinkle the
blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savor unto the Lord.”
“And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto
demons after whom they have played the harlot.
This shall be a statute forever unto them throughout their
generation. And any man who whether of
the house of Israel or a sojourner within his house, who offers a burnt
offering or sacrifice and bring it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation to offer it unto the Lord shall be cut off from among the
