So
the holy place and the tabernacle of the congregation had been atoned for and
the scapegoat let lose into the wilderness, and the blood of the bullock for a
sin offering and the goat for a sin offering had been sprinkled to make
atonement. And the carcass, the flesh, the skin and the dung, shall be carried
out of the holy place, to a place outside of the camp, and burnt . And the person who does the burning must
first wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water before returning to the
camp.
And
this shall be a statute forever. On the
seventh month on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your soul and do
no work at all whether it be one of your own country, an Israelite, or a
stranger that dwells among you.
And
on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you that you
may be clean from all your sins before the Lord. It shall be a Sabbath of rest
unto you and you shall afflict your soul by a statute forever.
And
the priest who had been anointed and consecrated shall make the atonement having
put on his priestly garments. He shall make an atonement for the holy
sanctuary, for the tabernacle of the congregation and for the altar, and for the
priesthood and all the people of the congregation. And hereafter, once a year,
atonement shall be made for the sins of all the congregation of Israel. More
