When it came to women, the Lord told Moses and Aaron
about female illnesses too. So it was
provided that if a woman had an issue of blood for many days beyond the time of
her separation, or if she runs many days beyond that time, all her days shall
be as the day of her separation and she shall be unclean.
Every
bed whereupon she laid, during the period of her issue shall be as per her bed
of separation; and whatsoever she sits upon shall be unclean. And whosoever
touches those things shall be unclean, and shall wash clothes and bathe self in
water and shall be unclean until the evening.
And
after she is cleansed of her issue, that is to say after the issue stops, she
shall count out seven days after which she shall be clean. And on the eight day
she shall take to herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them
to the priest at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation And the priest
shall offer the one as a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering and
the priest shall make an atonement for her for the issue of her uncleanness.
And
the Lord said, “Thus shall you separate the children of Israel from their
uncleanness that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my
tabernacle that is among them. The foregoing is the law for the man who had an
issue, and of the woman in her uncleanness due to her issue and of him who lies
with her while she is unclean. More
