The Tabernacle, the ark of the congregation and altar and
all the accessories were in place and anointed for service; so now Aaron and
his sons were summoned to enter within.
First they were washed with water at the door of the Tabernacle
before they could enter.
Then the
holy garments were put on Aaron and then he was anointed and sanctified for the
office of priest. And then Moses put
coats on the sons of Aaron and anoint them so that they may serve the Lord for
ever in their generation. All of this
was done by Moses as the Lord commanded him to do.
It should
be noted that Aaron’s office of Minister in so far as entering the Tabernacle
was but once a year; and so it was, that in the first day of the month, on the
first month of the second year, Moses again raised up the Tabernacle and placed
everything in order; the tabernacle was raised up and its pillars and sockets
and bars all set in place; he placed the tent over the tabernacle; put in place
the ark of the testimony; he set up the table, and put bread upon it; he put
the lampstand in place, and lighted the lamps; and placed the golden altar in
the its place; and he burnt sweet incense upon the altar as the Lord commanded
him.
Moses also
set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar and placed
water in it for washing; And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands
and their feet. And when they went into the tent of the congregation they
washed as the Lord had commanded Moses
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation and the
glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. More
