Mordecai’s order in the name of the king published
So Mordecai wrote in the king’s name and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by horseback and riders on mules, and camels by which the king granted the Jews in every city, that they should stand together and stand up for their life to defend themselves and to destroy, to slay, to cause to perish any people that tried to assault them, in any place or province where they chanced to be; and to take the spoils of those who they thus defeated. And upon a single day within the province of king Ahasuerus namely upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month which is the month Adar was the order to take effect. And a copy of the writing was given as a commandment to every province, and published to all the people in a timely manner, that the Jews would have sufficient time to prepare to defend themselves against any assault as per the previous order of Haman.
