Esther Invited the King and Haman to her banquet.
Now it came to pass on the third day that Esther put on her royal apparel and
stood in the inner court of the king’s house while the king sat on his throne.
And looking out the king saw Esther standing in the court and seeing her moved
him. And the king held out to her the royal scepter which was a sign that
Esther had his permission to approach him. And she did so, and touched the top
of the scepter. And the king asked Esther what was her request saying whatever
it was, even to a half of the kingdom was hers simply for the asking. And
Esther answered the king and told him that if it seemed good unto him to allow
Haman and himself to appear at a banquet that she would prepare for him. Then
the king summoned Haman hastily that he may do as Esther asked. So the king summoned
Haman and when he came the king asked Esther while wine was being served and
drank. “What is thy petition Esther? Asked and it shall be granted thee even unto
one half of the kingdom. Then answered Esther and said, “My petition, my
request is if I have found favour in thy sight of the king, and if it pleases
the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman
come tomorrow at a banquet that I shall prepare for you. And I will do tomorrow
according to the king’s request.
