BRAGADAYJAH 775
Void After the death of Samson
After the death of Samson, there was no
further leader and there was a period when everyone did what seemed right in
his own eyes. First there was a man called Micah of mount Ephraim. And one day
he confessed to his mother that he had stolen from her the eleven hundred
shekels of silver that were missing. Apparently his mother had pronounced a curse
over the taking of her silver; but when she found out that it was her son who
had taken it, she told her son that she had wholly dedicated it unto the Lord;
but now she said, “I will give it to you to make a graven image and a molten
image.” But her son restored the silver
to her and she took a part of it and had made for her son, a graven image and a
molten which were then placed in the house of her son Micah. Besides Micah had
a house of gods and he made an ephod and teraphim and consecrated one of his
sons a priest. And in those days there was no king in Israel, so every man did
that which was right in his own eyes.
