BRAGADAYJAH 758
So then Manoah’s wife went and told her
husband all what the angel of the Lord said to her. “A man of God,” she said, “came
to me, and his countenance was like an angel of God, very terrible, but I did
not ask him his name or where he came from; but I just knew he was an angel of
God. He told me I shall have a son, and I should not drink wine or strong drink
or eat any unclean thing during pregnancy, as the child shall be a Nazarite
unto God throughout his life.” So Manoah prayed to God and asked him to send
the man of God again to repeat the message so that they, he and his wife, would
know how to raise up the child. And God
heard Manoah’s prayer and sent an angel again to Manoah’s wife who being alone
at the time, ran and got her husband; who when he arrived asked the man whether
he was the one who had spoken to his wife; and having been told he was, Manoah
asked him to let the thing come to pass that they may know how to take care of
the child; and the angel once again cautioned as before that the woman should
not drink wine or strong drink or eat any unclean thing as he had commanded her
the first time.
