BRAGADAYJAH 759
The angel of the Lord having given
Manoah the confirmation he sought, he invited the angel to remain and have
dinner with them; for Manoah did not know he was actually speaking to an angel
of the Lord; so the angel told him that he would not sit and eat with him, but
that instead of dining with him he should use the bread and meat to offer a
burnt offering to the Lord. Then Manoah asked the angel of the Lord his name
explaining that they would want to do honour to him when the event he had
decreed would have come to pass. And the angel replied by asking Manoah why he
wanted to know his name pointing out that his name was secret. So Manoah took a
kid with a meat offering and offered it upon a rock unto the Lord. And in the flame
of the offering, Manoah and his wife beheld the angel ascend up into heaven, and
they saw him no more; thus did Manoah know he had spoken to an angel of the
LORD.
