BRAGADAYJAH 443
When told that God was about
to destroy them for their murmuring, they, not or the first time, fell on their
faces and assumed positions of penitence.
And so Moses told Aaron to put fire in his censor and put incense in it
and go quickly unto the congregation and make atonement for them; for there was
wrath gone out from the Lord and the plague had begun to affect the people.
And Aaron did as Moses
commanded and went out among the congregation among whom the plague had already
began to afflict and he made an atonement for the people. And as he stood
between the dead and the living, the plague was stayed.
And the total of all who died
of the plague was fourteen thousand and seven hundred in addition to all those who
died along with Korah when they were swallowed up.
Then Aaron returned unto the
tabernacle into the company of Moses and by that time the plague had been
lifted.
