BRAGADAYJAH 372
And if a man were to sanctify
some part of his field unto the Lord, then the valuation shall be according to
the seed thereof; a homer of barley was valued at being equivalent to fifty
shekels of silver. If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according
to the valuation it shall stand; but if he sanctifies his field after the
jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years
that remain, even unto the year of jubilee and a deduction made from the
valuation.
And if having sanctified his
field the person wanted to redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the
money of the valuation unto it and it shall return to him. But if he will not
redeem the field or he has sold it to another, his equity of redemption would
then be forever lost.
But the field when it goes
out in the year of jubilee, shall be holy unto the Lord as a field devoted; and
the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.
If a man sanctifies unto the Lord
a field which he has bought and not of his possession, then the priest shall
reckon unto him the worth of the valuation unto the year of jubilee and he
shall give the valuation in that day as a holy thing unto the Lord. In the year
of jubilee the field shall be returned to him of whom it was bought and who had
the right of possession. More.
