BRAGADAYJAH 1167

BRAGADAYJAH 1168
Ezra’s Prayer of Confession. [Part 1}
After Ezra’s heaviness which lasted all day, at evening his clothes and his mantle torn as a sign of his great grief for the sins of the priests and Levites and people, Ezra fell on his face and spread his hands before the Lord and said, “O Lord God, I am ashamed and I blush to lift up my face to Thee, my God for our iniquity are increased over our head, and our trespasses are given up to the heavens. Since the days of our fathers, have we been in a great trespass even unto this day. And for our iniquities have we been delivered into the hands of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face as it is today. And now for a little space grace has been shown from our Lord God to leave us a remnant to escape. And to give us a nail, ( a spot), in the holy place that God may lighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage. For we were bondsmen; yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended mercy unto us in the sight of the king of Persia, to give us a reviving to set up the house of our God and to repair the desolations thereof and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.
