Blessings and Curses for Obedience/Disobedience
Now Moses and the Elders commanded the people and instructed them
to keep all the commandments of the Lord. “And when you pass over the Jordan
and enter the land of promise, you shall set yourself up great stones and
plaster them with plaster and write upon them all the words of the law, so that
when you would have crossed over the Jordan and enter into the land which the
Lord your God promised to give you, there on Mount Ebal shall thou build an
altar unto the Lord your God, made of whole stones, so that no metal tool is
lifted up, and there offer burnt offerings and peace offerings, and thou shalt eat
there and rejoice before the Lord your God and thou shall write on the stones
plainly all the words of the law.
