Regulations about Forgiveness and Mercy
So
now the Lord commanded, when a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out to War,
neither shall be charged with any business, but he shall be free at home for
one year to give cheer to his wife whom he has taken. No man shall take the lower or the upper
millstone to pledge, for he takes a man’s life to pledge. If a man be found stealing any of the
brethren of the children of Israel and makes merchandise of him or sells him,
then that man shall be put to death, so that evil may be put away. Take heed in the plague of leprosy, and
observe diligently and do all the priests and Levites shall teach you to do; as
they have been commanded to do, you also must do as they command you.
