The
Mosaic Law of Divorce
When
a man marries a wife, and he eventually stops loving her, because he has found
some uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and put
it in her hand and send her out of his house.
And when she is gone, she may go and be another man’s wife. And if the latter husband also hates her, and
writes her a bill of divorcement and gives it to her in her hand, and sends her
out of his house, or if the second husband dies, her former husband may not
take her again to be his wife after she has been defiled for that is
abomination before the Lord and would bring sin into the land.
