Law of the Central Sanctuary
Moses
pronounced, “These are the statutes and ordinances which you shall to do in the
land which you go in to possess all the days of your life. You shall completely
destroy all the places belonging to the nations which you shall dispossess, all
the gods which they serve on the high mountains, and upon the hills, and every
green tree. And you shall overthrow their
altars, and break their pillars, and burn their idols with fire, and cut down
their carved images of their gods, and destroy their name out of the place.” “You
shall not do so unto the Lord your God, but unto the place which the Lord your
God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, and unto His habitation
shall you seek, and there you shall come. And there shall you bring your burnt
offerings, and your tithes, and your heave offerings of your hand, and your
vows, and your free will offerings, and the firstlings of your heard and your
flock. And there you shall eat before the Lord your God, and rejoice for all
the things you put your hand to, you and your household in which the Lord your
God has blessed you.”
