Naaman’s Leprosy
Now Naaman captain of the host of the king of
Syria was a great man of his master and most honourable because it was because
of him why his king received deliverance; and although he was a mighty man, he
was also a leper. And the Syrians had gone up by companies against Israel and
had captured and took away a little girl who was made to wait upon Naaman and
his wife. And eventually she told her mistress that she was sure that there was
a prophet of God who was at Samaria, and who could cure Naaman of his leprosy.
And someone went in and told the king what the little maid out of Israel had
said. And the king of Syria decided to send a letter unto the king of Israel.
And the messenger departed and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand
pieces of gold and ten changes of clothes. And he brought the letter to the
king of Israel introducing Naaman and asking that he be cleansed from his
leprosy. And after the king of Israel read the letter he was resentful and
angry and asked if he was God, and called attention to the fact that the king
of Syria was picking a fight with him by sending him a leper and asking him to cleanse
him of his leprosy.www.chaberbooks.com
