BRAGADAYJAH 1069
Elisha’s Miracles of the Pottage
and Bread
And so Elisha the man of God was able to call
upon his God and so caused the life to be restored unto the dead child. And so
he told his servant Gehazi to call the child’s mother; and when he had come, he
told her to take up her son; and she went in and bowed herself to the ground
before Elisha and took up her child and went out. And after that Elisha
returned to Gilgal and found a famine in the land and the sons of the prophets
went and sat before him. And he told his servant to cook a large pot of stew
for the sons of the prophets. And one went out into the field to gather herbs
and he found some gourd and gathered as many as he could carry, and minced them
up and stirred them in with the pot of stew for they did not know what it was;
so when they started eating it made them sick and they cried out and old the
man of God, that there was death in the stew. And he told them to bring meat and
put in the same sew that had made them ill and they did so; and there no longer
any harm is the stew. And there came a man from Baalshalisha and brought the
man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and full ears of
corn in the husk; and he said give unto the people that they may eat. And the
visitor Asked, “Shall I set this before a hundred men?” And Elisha said again, “Give
unto the people that they may eat; for thus saith the Lord they shall eat and
shall leave thereof.” So he set it
before them; and they did eat and left over thereof. www.chaberbooks.com
