The Seventh
Month Offering
The first
day of the seventh month was set aside as a holy convocation wherein there was
to be no servile work. It is also a day for blowing of the trumpet unto the
people. In it a sweet offering unto the Lord was to be offered; a burnt
offering consisting of one bullock, one ram and seven lambs of the first year,
all without spot or blemish. The meal offering was flour mixed with oil, three
tenth part for a bullock, and two tenth parts for a ram and one tenth part for
each of the seven lambs. And one kid of the goats for a sin offering to make an
atonement for sin.
And
on the tenth day of that same month there shall be a holy convocation wherein
you shall afflict your souls and do no manner of servile work; but ye shall
offer burnt offerings unto the Lord for a sweet savor, one young bullock, one
ram, seven lambs without blemish, together with the meal offering consisting of
flour mixed with oil, three tenth parts to a bullock, and two tenth part to one
ram, and one tenth part for each of the seven rams; and for a sin offering one
kid of the goat in addition to the daily burnt offering and the meal offering
and the drink offerings.
